Sonic Origins has received a brand-new trailer ahead of its launch next week, this time detailing the extra modes and features coming to the compilation of classic Sonic titles.
Alongside the Anniversary editions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD with remastered, widescreen visuals, Sonic Origins will also allow players to select a Classic Mode which brings back the original 4:3 presentation as well as finite lives and game over screens. Interestingly, this will be the first time that Sonic 3 & Knuckles has been officially playable in widescreen in its Anniversary Mode version.
There’ll also be a Story Mode which combines all four games into one, connected playthrough, and Sonic Origins even has brand-new animated opening and closing cutscenes for each game. On top of that is a Boss Rush Mode, a Mirror Mode and a Mission Mode that gives players various challenges to complete inside each of the games.
Anniversary Mode and Mission Mode also feature collectible coins that can be used to retry Bonus Stages as well as unlock content in a special Museum that will include some never-before-seen surprises.
