The loose units over at Capcom are at it again, with a new promotional anime tie-in for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake – although maybe not the kind you’d expect.

Coming from Nippon Animation (of Masterpiece Theater fame), the debut episode is titled “Leon and the Mysterious Village” and retells the game’s opening story beats in a very neat 56 seconds. Leon arrives at a mysterious village, looking for Ashley Graham, before asking one of the villagers for help. As any Resident Evil 4 fan would know, this does not go well and Leon winds up dead, simply reacting with “Story of my life.”

Resident Evil 4 is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 24, 2023. Amazon has the cheapest pre-order price at $84.99 with free shipping.

We gave the game an incredible 10/10 in our review, saying “Resident Evil 4 translates a game already revered into an absolute masterpiece. The tension is heightened and the combat is stronger than ever, all while still maintaining the corny dialogue and humour that the original game was known for. While there are a few minor aspects missing, Resident Evil 4 is a strong example of what any remake should be and is well worth your time.”
