Here’s Nearly Nine Minutes Of New Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay

Looking fantastic!

As part of its Tokyo Game Show 2023 special broadcast, Capcom has dropped a huge new gameplay deep dive for Dragon’s Dogma 2, a sequel that I thought I’d forever have to dream about but is very real.

Presented by the game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, the video focuses on the game’s starting and advanced vocations, pawns and world.

The combat on display in the video looks every bit as visceral and exciting as the original, and the monsters just as relentless and organically embedded in the world. The game will require players make creative use of their abilities, the environment around them and the types of monsters they’re fighting to survive.

We also get a look at some of the game’s diverse locations and on-the-fly events and quests around the world, with pawns supporting players in neat ways like leading them to quest locations they’re aware of or even catching you from a great fall. Night exploration looks especially tense with pitch black darkness and vicious new enemies to contend with.

There’s a peek at some of the later vocations as well, like the Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer. The whole thing looks incredibly cool and an absolute treat for fans of the original.
