The Last Of Us Season 2 Has Cast Its Dina

It's all coming together!

After having already announced the casting choices for both Abby and Jesse, HBO has now revealed who will be playing Dina in the second season of The Last of Us. In the role will be Isabela Merced, known for her roles in Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Rosaline (alongside fellow cast member Kaitlyn Dever) and Transformers: The Last Knight.

“Dina is warm, brilliant, wild, funny, moral, dangerous and instantly lovable,” said series showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. “You can search forever for an actor who effortlessly embodies all of those things, or you can find Isabela Merced right away. We couldn’t be prouder to have her join our family.”

In the past days, Kaitlyn Dever has been confirmed for the role of Abby Anderson while Beef actor Young Mazino has been cast in the role of Jesse.

“Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him, Mazin and Druckmann said of Mazino. “We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.”

Meanwhile, on Dever as Abby the pair said, “Our casting process for season two has been identical to season one: we look for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters in the source material. Nothing matters more than talent, and we’re thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella and the rest of our family.”

The first season of The Last of Us has picked up numerous awards recently including Emmys for both Nick Offerman and Storm Reid for their supporting roles as Bill and Riley.
