This morning saw the premier of the year’s first PlayStation State of Play, which gave us a look at around 40 minutes of reveals and updates on games coming to PlayStation in 2024 and beyond. There were some neat surprises (early leaks be damned) as well as some exciting extended looks and new information on upcoming games.
One of those updates came by way of a lengthy new gameplay trailer for Team Ninja’s upcoming open world action game, Rise of the Ronin. The trailer features nearly four minutes of gameplay showing off everything from exploration and traversal (including the ability to glide down onto your horse!) to light stealth, frantic swordplay, use of specialised equipment and more.
It’s definitely got the Team Ninja flavour, but also some pretty heavy Ghost of Tsushima, Assassin’s Creed and Sekiro vibes without feeling like it’s cribbing too much from any of those. You can read more about the game and this new trailer on the PlayStation Blog.
Rise of the Ronin launches on PS5 on March 22, 2024 and Amazon has pre-orders available now for $109.
