After showing off both the first planned content drop for The Outer Worlds, Peril on Gorgon, Obsidian revealed that they’re also working on a brand-new fantasy role-playing game that looks a whole lot like Skyrim, and that’s a beautiful thing.
Obviously, it’s early days in development as the trailer simply serves to cement the setting as an arrow, fired from atop a castle, tracks through the sky, eventually landing in the chest of a poor skeleton soldier. The game then transfers to the first-person perspective of our protagonist as they arm their sword and trace their left hand through in an attempt to cast a spell as what appears to be a dragon creates an ominous glow in the far-off door arch.

The game sees players returning to the world of Eora, suggesting that this game could be taking place within the Pillars of Eternity universe.
It’s exciting to see Obsidian working on a new role-playing game, especially one in the fantasy setting.
