The Xbox Games Showcase Is Coming Back In June 2024

Hopefully with plenty to show!

Today saw the arrival of Xbox’s big “business update,” which Microsoft revealed via a special episode of the Official Xbox Podcast featuring Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond and Matt Booty. The podcast came as something of a reaction to a sudden explosion of rumours of a new multiplatform strategy for Microsoft’s gaming business and has finally provided something in the way of answers.

Aside from talking about the obvious – a selection of Xbox first-party games coming to other platforms – Xbox also covered a few extra bits and pieces around its plans for the future.

One of those was a blink-your-ears-and-you’ll-miss-it nod from head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty, who revealed that the now-traditional June showcase for Xbox will most certainly be back for 2024.

“And this year, 2024, the year coming up, we’ve got more than 10 major releases coming up – great stuff. Hellblade II, we’ve got the Diablo expansion, we’ve got Avowed, Ara, the Indiana Jones game, and there’s more in development, which I think we’re going to be able to share more about at our June showcase coming up pretty soon.”

Booty stopped short of divulging anything further, like strict dates or what games we might see featured, but over on social media the official X account for Xbox did at least expand by name-dropping some of the already-announced titles we can probably expect to see appear.

“Xbox is keeping our promise to bring more games to more players around the world,” the post reads. “With an incredible year of major releases like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Towerborne and more — 2024 is going to be great for Xbox players around the world and we can’t wait to see you in June for the Xbox Showcase!”
