More unlockables! What’s not to love. Resident Evil 4 changes things up from the original game – namely due to missing Mercenaries and Separate Ways modes – but it still does it’s best to include almost everything that was unlockable in the original game. For now, here’s what you can unlock in the Resident Evil 4 remake that offers a benefit to you in some way. I’ve purposefully left out the cosmetic unlocks, though you can check out our Costume Guide to see the rest of those too.
As a reminder, if you complete a higher difficulty with requirements you will automatically unlock everything for the difficulty below. For example, if I completed Hardcore mode with an S+ rank, I’ll not only unlock the bonus for doing so on Hardcore but also the bonuses for doing so on Standard and Assisted too. So, to save some time, make sure to consolidate your runs for the perfect most efficient way to unlock everything!

HOW TO UNLOCK THE BONUS WEAPONS IN RESIDENT EVIL 4
INFINITE ROCKET LAUNCHER
WHAT IT IS: It’s a rocket launcher that never runs out. Pretty handy really.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete the main story and save your completed game. When you load a “completed game” save, you’ll be able to start a new run and purchase this from the merchant.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 2,000,000 pesetas.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: I don’t think this needs to be explained but it could come in handy against……anything.
PRIMAL KNIFE
WHAT IT IS: A knife forged with infinite possibilities!
HOW TO UNLOCK: Destroying all 16 of the Clockwork Castellans throughout the main story.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Completely upgrading it at the merchant will make it unbreakable. You can parry and escape from grabs to your hearts content.
CHICAGO SWEEPER
WHAT IT IS: A uniquely and immensely powerful submachine gun.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete the main story on Professional mode with an A rank. To get an A rank, finish the game in seven hours or less.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Completely upgrading it at the merchant will give the weapon infinite ammo without reloading. It can literally shred through your enemies in seconds.
HANDCANNON
WHAT IT IS: While it’s slower than other magnums, it’s the most powerful non-explosive weapon in the game.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete a new game in the main story on Professional mode without using any bonus weapons.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Completely upgrading it at the merchant will give the weapon infinite ammo without reloading.
HOW TO UNLOCK THE BONUS ACCESSORIES IN RESIDENT EVIL 4
GAS MASK
WHAT IT IS: A gas mask that makes Leon look like he’s cosplaying as HUNK. Hot.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete the main story on Professional mode.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Wearing it enables you to turn Aim Assist on regardless of what difficulty mode you’re playing. It’s normally only available on Assisted mode.
WOLF TAIL
WHAT IT IS: A tail that Leon can wear to unleash his inner animal. Yiff yiff.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete the main story on Assisted mode with an S+ rank. To get an S+ rank on Assisted, finish the main story in four hours or less on a new game.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Wearing this greatly increases the power of all Leon’s melee attacks.
DEER ANTLERS
WHAT IT IS: The world’s worst Adult Bambi cosplay.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete the main story on Standard mode with an S+ rank. To get an S+ rank on Standard, finish the main story in five hours or less on a new game.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Wearing them greatly increases the power of all of Leon’s knife attacks.
CHICKEN HAT
WHAT IT IS: I don’t think it needs clarifying but it’s a chicken that you can wear as a hat. And the world’s best Hotline Miami cosplay.
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete the main story on Hardcore mode with an S+ rank. To get an S+ rank on Hardcore, finish the main story in five and a half hours or less on a new game.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Wearing this hat greatly reduces the damage Leon receives.
CAT EARS
WHAT IT IS: UwU but for Leon
HOW TO UNLOCK: Complete the main story on Professional mode with an S+ rank. To get an S+ rank on Hardcore, finish the main story in five and a half hours or less on a new game while saving fifteen times or less.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: 1000CP from the Extra Content Shop.
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT IT: Wearing it grants Leon infinite ammo for all his weapons, except for the Rocket Launcher.
