The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has taken the world by storm in much the same way as its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, if not even more so with a whopping 10 million copies sold in just three days.
One of the returning features from that game is the ability to find hidden Koroks out in the game’s world, sometimes by solving mini environmental puzzles, and collect their Korok Seeds as a reward. Stockpiling and handing these seeds to a huge Korok named Hestu is how players can upgrade their inventory slots for weapons, bows and shields, but there’s also a final, glorious reward for the monumental effort of finding all 1000 Korok seeds in the game – up from 900 to be found in BotW.
(If you’re just starting out, check out where to find Hestu and start upgrading your inventory, and if you’re determined to find all of the Korok seeds yourself, there’s a handy item you should grab first.)
MILD SPOILERS BELOW
As seen in the below video from RetroArchive, the reward you get for the exhausting task of collecting every single Korok seed and bringing them to Hestu is an unashamed throwback to Breath of the Wild’s reward – a big, golden shit.
Word-for-word with the previous game, the description of the item reads “A gift of friendship given to you by Hestu. It smells pretty bad.”
As an extra added bonus this time around though, Hestu will also offer to do his adorable dance on command once you’ve handed over every seed in the game, even going as far as to offer to do his original dance from Breath of the Wild, which is a nice touch.
