Eight Classic Aussie Games Will Be Preserved By The National Film And Sound Archive

The NFSA (National Film and Sound Archive of Australia) has announced that it will start collecting Aussie video games for preservation.

The NFSA has preserved over 3 million items, but the eight games below will mark the first of what will hopefully go on to be many Australia games that are achieved and preserved. The eight games range from 1982 to 2019.

  • The Hobbit (Beam Software, 1982)
  • Halloween Harry (Interactive Binary Illusions / Sub Zero Software, 1985/1993)
  • Shadowrun (Beam Software, 1993)
  • L.A. Noire (Team Bondi, 2011)
  • Submerged (Uppercut Games, 2015)
  • Hollow Knight (Team Cherry, 2017)
  • Florence (Mountains, 2018)
  • Espire 1: VR Operative (Digital Lode, 2019)

These games will be on show from September 27th until March 9th at the Game Masters Exhibition which is taking place in Canberra.
