Hollow Knight: Silksong Has Appeared On The Xbox Store

Don't tease me like this!

Hollow Knight: Silksong is like the gaming community’s white whale at this stage, and it seems like any small bit of news or update is enough to put folks back on the hunt. This time, it’s a newly-minted listing for the game on the Xbox Store, something it hasn’t had this entire time but already existed on PlayStation and PC.

Naturally, the news has proven to be a source of excitement within the community of passionate fans waiting for Silksong, and even moreso because it seemingly contains ratings for the game, which is also news. In the states, it’s got an ESRB rating of E10+ (thanks Games Radar) and here in Australia it’s a PG. While these could absolutely just be a copy job from the original game’s rating, it could certainly be taken as an indication we’re closer than we think.

Adding further fuel to the fire is number of associated staff sharing the listing news, including an a product marketing manager and a senior content planning manager, both from Xbox, as well as Matthew Griffin, who works marketing and publishing for the game. Seems a lot for a simple store update, no? Even as the last of the US’ April Fools nonsense trickles down into our April 2nd (the listing is very real and right here).

The last proper “update” we got around Hollow Knight: Silksong was also from Griffin, who simply said the team was taking more time to make the game the best it can be.

“Hey gang, just a quick update about Silksong.

“We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.

“Expect more details from us once we get closer to release.”
