Cal Kestis’ Voice Actor Has Confirmed A Third Star Wars Jedi Game Is Being Worked On

They didn't even have to Force it out of him.

Just in case there was any doubt about EA and Respawn continuing their hugely-successful series of third-person action adventures based on the Star Wars universe, Cameron Monaghan (otherwise known as Cal Kestis in-game) has seemingly confirmed during a panel at Ocala Comic Con that development a third Star Wars Jedi game is underway.

“We’re working on a third and we’re in the process of doing that right now,” Monaghan told the audience after he and Nightsister Merrin actor, Tina Ivlev, were asked about future projects (thanks VGC).

“That’s a big undertaking and there have been some conversations so far, but hopefully when all things and said and done we’ll be able to go in and make something really cool.”

Watching the panel back, Monaghan’s answer is fairly emphatic and assured, despite nothing having been confirmed from official camps, so it remains to be seen when we’ll know from from Respawn themselves but it’s obviously going to be exciting news for fans of the first two.

Interestingly, the panel occurred right before news broke of Stig Asmussen, the director of both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has made the decision to leave Respawn Entertainment.

“After careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck,” a statement confirming Asmussen’s departure reads. “Veteran Respawn leaders will be stepping up to guide the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.”

Asmussen had told outlets back in March this year that he’d always wanted to turn the Respawn Jedi games into a trilogy, so it’s unclear if his departure will change or disrupt those plans or if Respawn’s newly-formatted leadership will press forward as intended, hopefully we’ll know more soon enough.
