It looks like Ubisoft is working on a brand-new multiplayer title set in the world of Captain Laserhawk, its Netflix animated series which itself is inspired by Far Cry 3’s Blood Dragon DLC and also features characters and elements from other Ubisoft games like Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six and Rayman.
In this case, a game titled Captain Laserhawk Niji Warrior has appeared on Europe’s PEGI ratings website, which ties it to the Niji 6 – a group of Power Rangers-esque warriors in the show whose very name and designs are a play on Rainbow Six. The now-deleted listing (shared below thanks to MP1st) claims that “Players take part in a laser deathmatch and compete to eliminate the most opponents” and will feature an in-game store for cosmetics.
The rating suggests it’ll be a stylised title, probably echoing the visuals of the animated series/Niji 6 themselves, describing the game as featuring “Moderate violence in which human-like characters are shot using laser guns. Reactions to being shot are unrealistic, with characters breaking into parts when hit. There is no gore or injury detail, although there are splatters of blood onto the ground.
The listing also points to PC as the sole platform, curiously with a December 19th, 2023 release date, but it’s not uncommon to see separate ratings filings for different platforms.
At this stage there’s no official word on the game’s existence from Ubisoft, so the existence of this title isn’t set in stone, but it’s hard to imagine it turning out to be false based on the above listing.
