With the show’s premiere just a few weeks away, Prime Video is ramping up early looks at its upcoming Fallout TV series, based on the iconic video game franchise of the same name.
After dropping a big new trailer earlier in the month, and revealing that the show is headed to our screens a day earlier than originally planned, Prime Video has now gone and published a first look at a scene from Fallout to its YouTube channel. In the scene, we see the series’ lead character and Vault Dweller, Lucy (Ella Purnell), in a face off with Ghoul (Walton Goggins) in a ramshackle wasteland town centre. While only two minutes long, it does a decent job of setting the tone for some early character relationships and also gives us a first look at the series’ Power Armour in action.
Take a look at the scene below, and make sure you check out our primer on when and where to watch Fallout in Australia come April 11th.
Set in Los Angeles a whole 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse, Fallout will follow Lucy (played by Ella Purnell) as she steps out of Vault 33 into the unknown and unhinged world above. The trailer gives us a good look at life both in the vault and above the surface, as well as the packed cast of eccentric characters played by the likes of Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Emerson and more.
“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have,” the trailer’s description reads.
“200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.”
