Two New Nintendo Switch Consoles Are Apparently Coming This Year

After reports late last year that Nintendo would release a new Nintendo Switch iteration this year, the Wall Street Journal has reported that Nintendo will in fact release two new consoles this year.

The first version (the one spoken about last year) will have more premium features targeted at the hardcore market, with the other model being a cheaper piece of hardware that Nintendo expects 3DS owners will want to move onto.

Both of these consoles make sense. We’re two years into the Nintendo Switch cycle and there’s no doubt that the Switch has been a success, but gamers would love a more powerful version and casual gamers would love to get it for as cheap as possible.

It’s almost a guarantee that Nintendo will look to announce these at E3, with a release planned for alter in the year.
