Bloomberg is reporting that Nintendo is telling developers to make their games 4K-ready, which is in-line with the recent rumours of the Nintendo Switch Pro being 4K capable.
The report says: Nintendo is making preparations for an upgraded Switch model and a beefed-up games lineup for 2021, Bloomberg News has reported. Several outside game developers, speaking anonymously as the issue is private, said that Nintendo has asked them to make their games 4K-ready, suggesting a resolution upgrade is on its way.
A 4K Nintendo Switch sounds like a pipedream, but it’s being speculated that the new Switch Pro could use DLSS, just like in the more recent Nvidia Shield (which uses an upgraded version of the chip used in the Nintendo Switch). It’s obviously unlikely that we’ll see native 4K games on a Switch Pro, but it’d be a nice resolution boost even if it’s upscaled.
