Cyberpunk 2077 Has Been Rated R18+ In Australia With No Censored Parts

CYBERPUNK 2077
Release Date
September 17, 2020

Earlier this week, the Brazilian rating listing for Cyberpunk 2077 was found on the internet.

The game was rated for having drug use, drug trafficking and prostitution among many other things (full list is below), which would lead any Australian to be worried about the game successfully receiving a classification in Australia.

The good news is that Gamespot received confirmation that the game had in fact been rated R18+ in Australia (without any changes) and we’ve just had confirmation of the fact with Bandi Namco’s local team, who also provided updated local packshots for the game. The Australian R18+ rating also calls the game out for having “high impact themes, sex, violence and refers to sexual violence”.

The game’s Brazilian rating listed the game as having the below descriptors:

  • Weapons without violence
  • Hinted use of illicit drugs
  • Weapons with violence
  • Description of consuming illicit drugs
  • Derogatory language
  • Verbal aggression
  • Sexual pleasurement
  • Violence acts
  • Exposure to death corpse
  • Sexual language
  • Blood
  • Description of illicit drug consumption of trafficking
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Nudity
  • Prostitution

Cyberpunk 2077 will now release on September 17th and every Australian can now be excited for the game, without fear of it being refused classification.
