Marvel’s Avengers War For Wakanda Black Panther Expansion Is Coming This Month

War for Wakanda, the Black Panther-centric expansion for Marvel’s Avengers, will be arriving on August 17th according to a blog post by Square Enix. The expansion pack will bring much-needed new story content to the game.

The expansion will bring Black Panther as a new playable hero, as well as new hero outfits for the already existing ones. Additionally, new villain types like the Klaw and a new outpost will be added too. The Wakandan Jungle biome will also be added, with a bunch of new war zones and assignments rounding out the package.

Black Panther will also be voiced by Christopher Judge, who is most recently best known for playing Kratos in God of War.

The day before the expansion arrives, Square Enix will be holding an online War Table event to give a better look at everything in the expansion as well as some “special things” they didn’t specify.
Given that War for Wakanda was the last content drop on the roadmap revealed five months ago, it will be interesting to see if Square Enix will detail if any content will be dropping for the game beyond that. PlayStation owners are still waiting for Spider-Man, after all.
Marvel’s Avengers is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X right now. The War for Wakanda expansion will be free.
