Leaked GTA 6 Footage Was Used In A Goat Simulator 3 Ad And It Went About As Well As You’d Expect

If the folks behind the marketing for Goat Simulator 3 were looking to capture the chaotic, no-fucks-given attitude of the game in their latest stunt, they both succeeded and also succeeded.

In a genuinely entertaining video posted to Twitter, viewers are introduced to “Shaun”, an NPC in the game. Shaun narrates his life as a non-playable character, talking about his routine of walking a preset path, picking up in-game objects and sitting on benches, and how his days at “Ragdoll School” prepared him for the chaos of his role in Goat Simulator 3.

It’s towards the end, where Shaun reveals he’s also got some other gigs in the pipeline, and the video cuts to footage of an in-progress build of GTA 6 that leaked earlier in the year (albeit with Shaun spliced in) that’s caused some trouble. Take a look at it for yourself:

As expected, GTA publisher and Rockstar Games parent company, Take-Two Interactive, didn’t take too kindly to unauthorised early footage of their IP being used to advertise another game and swiftly issued takedown notices. The ad was pulled, though as is visible above it’s still making the rounds online.

Even then, the official Goat Simulator 3 Twitter account seemed to be having fun with the whole deal.

Rockstar has previously said that the substantial amount of leaked footage and screenshots won’t adversely affect the game’s development, which is still presumably in very early stages.

Goat Simulator 3, meanwhile, released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC back in November. We gave it an 8/10 in our review, saying “Goat Simulator 3 is a remarkable improvement on the original in practically every way, with a great variety of gear to wreak havoc with.”
