Announced unceremoniously in a tweet on the official Japanese account for Resident Evil/Biohazard, it’s been revealed that the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4 will be getting a free VR mode on the PS5, for the PlayStation VR2.
“Development of VR mode for Resident Evil 4 has started! Stay tuned for more details!”
“The VR mode of Resident Evil 4 will be distributed as a free DLC for PlayStation 5/PlayStation VR2.”
There’s no mention yet of whether the mode will make the entire game playable in VR or serve as additional content for the game, but given that Capcom is saying development has only just begun on the mode it’s safe to say it’ll be a while before we see it.
Resident Evil Village just received its own free PlayStation VR2 update making the full game playable in VR with its own specific gameplay changes, nearly two years after its initial release. It’s one of almost 50 “launch window” titles for the PlayStation VR2, which released this week. You can read our full review of the PS VR2 here.
