Fort Solis Is Bringing Its Unreal Engine 5-Powered Sci-Fi Thrills To PS5 At Launch

The Unreal Engine 5-powered sci-fi thriller has a great cast.

Fort Solis, the upcoming psychological sci-fi thriller/adventure game from developer Fallen Leaf and publisher Dear Villagers, has been confirmed for a PS5 release when it launches in Q3 this year.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and featuring a strong cast that includes Julia Brown (M.I. High, World on Fire), Roger Clark (Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2) and Troy Baker (everyone else in everything else), Fort Solis is described as a hard sci-fi drama with no camera cuts, load times or even a HUD, offering players an immersive experience soaked in tension and dread all set over a single night on the planet, Mars. The game was first announced at last year’s Summer Games Showcase and looked mighty impressive at the time.

“When we first saw Fort Solis we knew Fallen Leaf was making something special,” Head of Publishing for Dear Villagers, Guillaume Jamet, has said in a press release announcing the PS5 version . “It really stood apart from other sci-fi horror games with its brilliant script, classy presentation, environmental storytelling, and narratively open-ended game design. We can’t wait to hear the discourse around it!”

Check out a brand-new trailer for Fort Solis, focused on the game’s protagonist, Jack Leary:

Fort Solis is a single player, third person thriller experience set on Mars. Responding to an alarm call from a neighbouring base, Jack arrives at a dark and desolate Fort Solis. With storm warnings imminent he heads inside to make contact. As the night grows longer, events escalate, spiral out of control and the mystery of what happened to the crew begins to reveal itself. The storms arrive, limiting Jack’s escape as he looks to hold out until morning arrives.

Fort Solis is currently slated to release for PC and PS5 in “Q3” 2023.
