Final Fantasy XVI

A Final Fantasy XVI Pre-Launch Celebration Event Is Happening In June

In Los Angeles, but also livestreamed!

The marketing machine for Final Fantasy XVI is in full motion, it seems.

Following a huge State of Play showcase that gave us a deep-dive into the game’s world, systems and combat, Square Enix has announced that it’s holding a special “Pre-Launch Celebration” event in Los Angeles on June 11th (12th for us Aussies) – a little bit before the game’s June 22nd release date.

No further information has been revealed about what will feature at this event, but Square Enix says more details are to come, and it will be livestreamed for those around the globe who can’t just pop over to LA for a cheeky showcase. Given the proximity to release there’s probably not going to be any new and mindblowing reveals or stunts, but who knows? Maybe a shadow drop of a demo? Square Enix loves a good demo lately.

FINAL FANTASY XVI CELEBRATION AUSTRALIAN TIMES – MONDAY, JUNE 12TH

  • 8.00 AM AEST (Melbourne/Sydney/Hobart/Canberra/Brisbane)
  • 7.30 AM ACST (Adelaide, Darwin)
  • 6.00 AM AWST (Perth)
  • 10.00 AM NZDT (Wellington)

We got the chance to go hands-on with a few hours of Final Fantasy XVI earlier in the year and said, “Regardless of the session having a more narrowed focus on combat and Eikonic battles, the two-and-a-bit hours I spent immersing myself in Final Fantasy XVI has painted a reassuringly positive picture. It’s been in good enough hands this whole time that I’ve always felt rather confident in the game to really bring the single-player Final Fantasy experience back into good stead, but knowing what I now know and playing what I played I’m almost certain that this will be the Final Fantasy to truly wow the world once again.”

Final Fantasy XVI launches for PS5 on June 22nd, 2023. Amazon has the cheapest pre-order price at $82 with free shipping.
