Armored Core VI’s Release Date, Gameplay Trailer And Collector’s Edition Have Been Revealed

Mechin' me thirsty.

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon, the huge new entry in the classic franchise coming by way of Bandai Namco and FromSoftware, of Elden Ring and Dark Souls fame, has finally been granted a release date.

The mech action combat game will be launching on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on August 25th, 2023.

Amazon is already doing pre-orders for a great price at $74.99 with free shipping.

The game will feature all the hallmarks of the Armored Core series with players piloting mechs in fast-paced, omni-directional battles across both land and air, and customising their mechs’ buildouts between missions for optimal combat efficiency. Anyone who’s played one of these games knows how robust and integral the mech customisation is in these games and while the new three-minute gameplay trailer accompanying the release date announcement doesn’t really give us a look at any of that, it is appropriately anime as hell. Check it out:

“Combining FromSoftware’s longstanding expertise in mech games with their signature action gameplay, ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON brings a brand-new action experience to the series.”

On top of the release date and gameplay reveals, an Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon Collector’s Edition and Premium Edition have also been unveiled, with the Collector’s Edition sporting the game, a SteelBook case, stickers, pin badges, digital soundtrack, artbook and a 19cm mech statue, while the Premium Edition includes the same but puts the mech statue inside a 32CM “garage.”

At the time of writing, the Premium Edition seems to be exclusive to the Bandai Namco store globally. Aussies can still purchase it, but it’s a cool $880 AUD including shipping, so do with that information what you will.
