The Summer Game Fest Showcase premiered today, bringing with it a heap of new game reveals, trailers and exciting updates on a ton of games across a stacked show.
One of those was the global reveal of an all-new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog platformer with a drop-dead gorgeous 2.5D visual style, multiplayer, heaps of new abilities and mini-game sections and more. It’s called Sonic Superstars and is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC later this year.
According to the official descriptions, Sonic Superstars will take place across the mystical Northstar Islands, allowing players to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or Amy solo or in up to four-player co-op. It’ll feature brand new Emerald powers to traverse its “dynamic maps” including multiplying, swimming up waterfalls, transforming and more.
