A PC Version Of Final Fantasy XVI Is Officially Happening Along With Two Expansions

Plus a new update drops today!

Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida has sent out a special message for fans, revealing some exciting new details around Final Fantasy XVI.

For starters, the studio is dropping a free update for the game today. The update adds a new weapon transmog feature that allows players to swap the look of their currently-equipped weapon to any other in their possession, as well as new costumes for Clive, Jill, Torgal, Ambrosia and Joshua, and finally some quality-of-life features like added controller layout options.

In slightly bigger news, it’s been announced that the team at CBU III is working on two paid DLC expansions that will further flesh out the world of Valisthea, and that’s not all – the game is officially getting a PC version with development currently underway.

Yoshi-P promises we’ll see more information on Final Fantasy XVI’s new DLC and PC release before the end of the year. In the meantime, the update drops today for those still playing through the adventure.

Final Fantasy XVI launched just over a couple of months ago, and we gave it a 9/10 in our review, saying “Final Fantasy XVI is an epic in every sense of the word. Consistently sharp writing, a captivating cast of characters, exhilarating combat, and a timeless soundtrack coalesce into an experience that showcases what the PlayStation 5 is capable of at the highest level. It constantly finds ways to top its own scale in remarkable fashion, but never loses sight of the intimate journey its built around.”
