Fortress Sydney Is Hosting A Final Fantasy VII-Themed Valentine’s Date Night With An Advent Children Movie Screening

I can finally ask Barret out!

Square Enix, Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia and Fortress Sydney have announced the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth “Golden Date Night” event this February 14th, celebrating Valentine’s Day in true Golden Saucer style with a night of Final Fantasy VII-themed activities.

The even will feature free arcade games, a session of Final Fantasy VII trivia and the opportunity to get a taste of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth ahead of launch. There’ll be prizes, including a PS5 console, along with themed food and drinks. Perhaps most exciting will be what appears to be the only local screening of the Advent Children movie, which is getting a run at theatres overseas in February.

Entry will only be available via a Gleam ballot, with winners of double passes drawn on February 8th. You can enter right here.

Here’s everything you need to know in summary:

  • Date and Time: Wednesday, February 14th | 7pm – 10pm
  • Location: Fortress Sydney, Central Park Mall, Level 2/28 Broadway, Chippendale NSW 2008
  • To register for tickets: Visit the Gleam event page. Tickets will be distributed as double passes via a ballot system on February 8th. Access to the event will be granted exclusively to eligible ticket holders and their guest.

We recently had the chance to play and preview Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for ourselves, writing, “If what I played here is anything to go by, there’s a good cadence here of modern-feeling open exploration bookended by visits to stunning recreations of familiar locales from Final Fantasy VII along with thoughtful updates to scenarios, characters and encounters that OG fans remember. This small taste has me incredibly excited to see the rest of Rebirth’s vast world and whether the team truly has managed to keep up the fidelity and depth of gameplay, visuals and sterling fan service achieved in Final Fantasy VII Remake in a far grander scope than before.”

We don’t have all that long either, with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth set to launch on PlayStation 5 on February 29th next year. You can pre-order it now on Amazon for $105 with free shipping and pre-order price guarantee.
