Redfall Will Require An Internet Connection Even In Single Player

Bloody great.

Redfall, the new vampire hunting first-person action game from Arkane, finally got a release date last week during the Xbox & Bethesda Developer Direct. The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 2nd, 2023.

Now that we’re on the approach to release, more tidbits of information around the game are starting to appear, including the nature of its always-online game world. As pointed out by VGC, the official FAQ for the game states emphatically that users will need a persistent online connection as well as a Bethesda.net account to play the game for both single-player and cooperative multiplayer:

Will playing Redfall require an online connection for single player as well as co-op? A persistent online connection is required for single player and co-op.
Will playing Redfall require a Bethesda.net account? A Bethesda.net account is required.
The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, and will require at least an Xbox Live Gold membership to play online co-op but won’t require a paid account to play solo.
