Physical Copies Of Redfall Have Shipped With An Awkward 60FPS Label

A sticky situation.

The ongoing saga of Redfall has one last chapter of grief before it launches next week with physical copies reportedly turning up in stores sporting an awkward “60FPS” text still making its way to the final box art.

A photo of the game’s packaging was shared online with a notable extra sticker placed on the outside of the cover to let potential buyers know, as the gaming world learned recently, that Redfall will not in fact launch with a 60FPS “performance” option on Xbox consoles.

Arkane of course has promised that an update is on the way that will add the missing performance mode in, but it’s definitely been a point of contention since the developer delivered the hard news a couple of weeks ago.

The fact that the game slicks have arrived sporting the incorrect information is a pretty good indicator that this was definitely a last minute issue ahead of release and was likely originally planned to be a feature at launch, but conversely it could hopefully mean the update is close enough around the corner that it was easier to leave them as is (probably not, but a fella can be optimistic).

Regardless of the arguments surrounding Redfall’s launch performance hurdles, always-online requirements and host-only progression, we’re still keen to see what Arkane has cooked up with it’s take on multiplayer action in a typically-Arkane open world full of vampires to slay.

We recently had our hands on a good chunk of the game and came away fairly confident that it’ll be a solid bit of fun whether you’re playing solo or with friends, especially with the game launching into Xbox Game Pass on day one making it easier to ensure you’ve got mates to go vamp hunting with.

Redfall launches on May 2nd for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
