Indiana Jones

We Might Finally See Bethesda’s Indiana Jones Game Next Year

Don't touch that Dial of Destiny!

While it’s been a hot minute since we’ve heard more from Bethesda on one of its projects that isn’t the just-released Starfield or the upcoming The Elder Scrolls VI, namely the Indiana Jones game in development at MachineGames (of modern Wolfenstein fame), a recent interview with Todd Howard published by Esquire’s Shannon Liao has given eager fans a glimmer of hope that we’ll learn more soon enough.

At the tail end of the interview, which naturally is centered mostly around Starfield, Liao manages to quickly bring up Indiana Jones, noting that Raiders of the Lost Ark is Howard’s favourite film in the franchise and that he was pitching Indy to Lucasfilm as far back as 2009 before Disney eventually decided to put the wheels into motion for what is now in development at MachineGames.

“I am a giant Indiana Jones fan. It can be brought to video games in a unique way,” Howard told Liao without going into any real detail. “The game is obviously: you’re exploring stuff. It’s about him. So if you’re playing the game, how do you feel that you are indeed playing versus just watching?”

Liao says that despite his inability to truly open up about the Indiana Jones game, Howard gave them a flash of a tease as they were exiting the interview, simply saying, “We’ll talk next year.”
