Tenacious D’s New Single “Video Games” Just Locked Down A Long-Term Lease In My Head

Red Dead Redemption was so good, though.

“I don’t play video games no more, I don’t play video games” sings musician, actor and video game content creator Jack Black in the opening to Tenacious D’s brand-new single, Video Games, before listing a bunch of video games he definitely plays.

Yep, the D is back once again and they’ve penned a single about being too busy and adult for gaming, but absolutely still doing it because gaming is for busy adults who need to escape into incredible and immersive new word.

The song includes references to the likes of God of War, Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption, and the gorgeously-animated video takes it even further, presenting the dynamic duo within the realms of Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros., Tomb Raider, The Legend of Zelda and more.

Fair warning: There’s a bit of cartoonish gore/swearing involved.

The video itself was made using Unreal Engine, which is cool, and it was directed by Adam Paloian (The Cuphead Show, SpongeBob SquarePants) along with a huge list of credits for those involved in its creation – which are included in the music video.
