EA Is “Rebranding” Its Frostbite Engine With News On Tech Upgrades Coming Soon

Cool.

EA has announced a “new look and vision” for its internally developed Frostbite Engine, an engine that has powered a number of EA titles from 2008’s Battlefield: Bad Company to 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition and all the way up to a multitude of 2023 releases including EA Sports FC 24, UFC 5 and the remake of Dead Space.

Now, the company is revealing not just a new logo for Frostbite but a new brand philosophy, representing its work to bring the various EA teams together to better collaborate and understand the development and technology needs that shape the Frostbite engine itself.

More exciting for those outside of EA, the company also says it has more to share on the actual engine going forward, including how it’ll be evolving and updating with next-generation tech:

Although EA stresses that none of its teams are forced to use Frostbite in their games, it clearly wants to make it the best choice and best working practice among its studios.
