It Takes Two Developer Hazelight Is Getting Ready To Announce Something New

Can't wait.

Hazelight Studios, the team behind the fantastic, award winning co-op platformer, It Takes Two, is gearing up to show the world what it’s been cooking in the years since.

The studio shared a post on social media platform X, sharing that it’s celebrating its 10th anniversary in November this year before revealing that it’ll have some new (real good) stuff to talk about later this year. Hazelight is also seemingly planning to post a series of behind-the-scenes and historic moments in its history, or even before it had one, between now and then.

“In November we’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hazelight!” the post reads, accompanied by an image from Fares’ acceptance of the BAFTA Award for Game Innovation all the way back in 2014.

“Damn it’s nostalgic looking back at Josef accepting a Bafta for Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons back in March 2014. The crazy success of that game is why he founded Hazelight soon after!

“Sure, we got new (real good) stuff cooking that we’ll talk more about later this year. But right now we want to take you on a trip down memory lane and show you some of the never-before-seen moments that got us here!

“More to come soon!”

Hazelight last teased its next project as far back as April last year, where it continued to share behind-the-scenes images of its motion capture team, something it seemingly started working on in 2022, if not earlier.

The studio also recently celebrated a sales milestone for It Takes Two with the game crossing over an astronomical 16 million copies sold.

We scored It Takes Two a 7.5/10 in our review in 2021, with Brodie saying, “Although the story of Cody and May doesn’t meet the standards set by the game’s varied gameplay, It Takes Two sees the continued form of Josef Fares and his team at Hazelight in crafting wonderfully creative and engaging worlds for players to share and collaborate in. It Takes Two is a co-op experience that’s second to none, which offers more ways than you can imagine to experience these larger than life play spaces.”
