This Legend Just Scored A World Record For Connecting Over 400 Gaming Consoles To A Single TV

My king.

Ibrahim Al-Nasser is a passionate collector of video games and video game consoles, and that passion has translated into a project so mind-boggling in its scale and execution that it’s earned him a Guinness World Record along with the respect of anyone who’s ever tried to juggle multiple gaming consoles on one TV.

“The TV ports are limited, and if I want to play either I unplug the existing consoles or I’ll keep everything and add more switchers and, of course, more converters,” Al-Nasser says in the opening of the video on the Guinness World Records YouTube channel, explaining that this dilemma inspired him to come up with a solution wherein he could have all of his consoles connected to the TV at the same time. And we’re not just talking about a dozen or so machines – this mad genius has managed to hook up 444 gaming consoles to one telly.

Through an intricate system of HDMI switchers and RCA converters, catalogued and organised via an incredible spreadsheet, Al-Nasser can simply hit the corresponding button for whichever console in his enormous collection he’d like to play and go. Potentially the most impressive thing about this whole endeavour, though, is his cable management – you barely see one in the entire four-minute video. As someone who struggles to organise the cables for just a handful consoles, it’s absolutely mind-blowing to see.

The collection is impressive enough on its own, spanning the history of home video game machines from the Magnavox Odyssey all the way up to the PS5 Slim, and includes some of the most niche devices and add-ons you’ve ever seen assembled into one place. And as if respect weren’t already earned for everything else you’ll see in the video, the reveal that Al-Nasser’s favourite console of all time is the SEGA Genesis (or Mega Drive, as we know it) is all the proof I need of his immaculate taste.
