Pokémon Concierge Has Set A Release Window On Netflix

Can't wait for this!

Thanks to Anime Expo 2023, we’ve learned a little more about Pokémon Concierge, the new stop-motion animated series coming to Netflix that was revealed back in February as part of a Pokémon Presents presentation.

Firstly, we now know that Pokémon Concierge is slated to make its debut on Netflix in December this year, which is simultaneously not that much of a wait but also an excruciating one.

We also got a delightful behind-the-scenes look at the production of the series with a tiny set tour thanks to Rena Nonen (known as Non), the actress behind main (human) character, Haru, and the series’ director, Iku Ogawa. In the video, which you can see below, you’ll get to see some of the adorable Pokémon puppets used to film the series, which centres around Haru settling into her role as concierge for a resort dedicated entirely to Pokemon.

Non describes seeing herself in the character, and trying to imagine how she would act and feel in a world filled with Pokemon, while the director reveals that the studio used the actress’ own facial expressions during recording as reference for animating her stop-motion counterpart. You can watch the short Studio Visit video below:

This delightful stop-motion animation tells the story of a concierge named Haru, who works at a resort just for Pokémon, and the guests who come to visit. Non, who performs the voice of Haru, takes us on a visit to dwarf studios, where we get a glimpse of Haru, Psyduck and a variety of other Pokémon! Join us as we take this rare opportunity to visit the animation studio and get a peek into the charming world of “Pokémon Concierge.”
