Fortnite Looks To Be Getting A Doctor Who Event This Year

Meep!

Fresh off of an Attack on Titan collaboration, another upcoming Fortnite event has seemingly leaked, thanks to consistent news source for all things Fortnite, iFireMonkey on Twitter.

This time around it’s a tie-in with the popular BBC sci-fi series, Doctor Who, which has been featured in the game before but in a smaller capacity to what this new leak is claiming.

Reportedly pegged for November to time with the series’ 60th anniversary, the Doctor Who event will supposedly run for two weeks and feature challenges to complete to earn rewards as well as Item Shop cosmetics including skins, pickaxes, a glider and an emote. Adding to this, a Creative map running alongside the event will supposedly throw out a a free Beep the Meep spray for players that check it out.

Interestingly, it’s also pointed out that, in the image showing an unfinished version of the Doctor Who event’s menu, a Garage tab can be seen that likely relates to a racing-focused update that’s been rumoured for a while.

In other recent Fortnite news, Epic announced the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (or UEFN), a powerful new tool that developers can use to create and publish Unreal Engine 5-quality games and experiences directly to Fortnite itself.

With the UEFN application for PC, users can design, develop and publish games in tandem with Fortnite’s existing Creative toolset and using a new programming language called Verse, which has been created to get developers up and running with scripting for Fortnite and will also be a programming language for the metaverse in future. Verse will also become a supported programming language in Unreal Engine at a later date.

A public beta for UEFN is available right now for anyone to download and play with, and Epic will be slowly building on the toolset over time.
