Battlefield 2042, DICE’s highly-anticipated follow-up to Battlefield V, is set to launch on October 22, 2021. Confirmed via the game’s first reveal trailer that debuted today, the game will head to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles in just over four months.
The game, which returns to modern warfare, pitches a setting that is rife with chaos. 21 years into the future the world has destabilised and is on the brink. In a fight for power, the United States and Russia have brought ex-pat soldiers into their forces to vie for a spot as the primary superpower.

Also confirmed in the reveal trailer is the introduction of real-time weather hazards such as sand storms and tornadoes, which will plough through maps to provide an extra layer of chaos for players. The game will support 128 players on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC and 65 players on PS4 and Xbox One.
