Alan Wake 2’s Release Date Has Been Revealed Alongside A Thrilling Trailer

I'm Alan Weak.

This morning saw a huge new PlayStation Showcase with over an hour of reveals, updates and gorgeous trailers.

One of the most exciting among the lot was a brand-new trailer for Alan Wake II, showing off a great glimpse into the game’s narrative and gameplay, including a new perspective for players.

It was also revealed that the game is coming out on October 17th this year, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The sequel to Remedy’s 2010 survival horror experience is set to be a truly next-generation experience, starting by shaking things up with a second playable protagonist in Saga Anderson. In the game, “A string of ritualistic murders threatens Bright Falls, a small-town community surrounded by the Pacific Northwest wilderness. Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent with a reputation for solving impossible cases, arrives to investigate the murders. Soon the events spiral into a nightmare when she discovers pages of a horror story that start to come true around her. Somehow the events seem to lead to Alan Wake, the horror writer who went missing 13 years ago.”

Players will be free to choose the order in which they follow both Alan and Saga’s stories, which will seemingly echo, foreshadow and intertwine with each other at points along the way. Both stories will take players to different locations including a return to Bright Falls, and we even got a look at what seems to be the man himself Max Payne in the trailer.

Interestingly, the game will also be digital-only on all platforms, with Remedy explaining that the decision was made to keep the game at a lower price for players.
