EA Sports UFC 5 Has Been Officially Announced

MMA-zing!

EA has officially announced EA Sports UFC 5, following up 2020’s UFC 4 after a lengthy three-year break.

While very little has actually been revealed about the game aside from a logo, we can expect a full unveiling of EA Sports’ big new UFC game in a couple of months, at an unannounced date in September. Presumably this is when we’ll learn when the game is launching and on which platforms.

Keen fans can also sign up on the official EA Sports UFC 5 website to stay up to date on the latest news as it comes.

The previous release, UFC 4, was praised by many as one of the best MMA games ever made, so fans hopefully have a lot of reason to get excited for the series’ debut as a game designed with the new generation of console hardware in mind.

Back in 2021, supposed leaked internal emails from EA Canada revealed that both a new UFC game and a new entry in the Fight Night series were in development, with UFC 5 pegged to be released in 2022 originally, but development on Fight Night was put on ice in favour of putting the resources into UFC 5 instead.

Thus the decision has been made to pause the game’s development “for the time being” to ensure that UFC 5 will be delivered at “high quality”, the email reportedly said.

“We’re very excited about UFC 5 and… we want to eliminate the split focus that several members of our leadership team have had over the past while so we can solely focus on delivering migration and UFC 5 at high quality,” via VGC.
