While Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming major paid expansion, Phantom Liberty, was the star of the game’s feature at this morning’s Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 showcase, it also brought with it some great news for players sticking to the base game.
On stage at ONL, CD Projekt Red gameplay designer Yuliia Pryimak revealed that a lot of the new features already announced and shown off in the new Phantom Liberty trailer will be coming to the base game as part of its “2.0” update, which is free to everyone who owns the game regardless of whether they pick up the DLC.
While we don’t have an exact idea of everything that’s involved in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, some of the features coming as part of Phantom Liberty include things like a revamped police system, new vehicle combat features, improved enemy AI, dynamic events, a redesigned perk system, new skill trees, an increased level cap and a whole load of new weapons and gear. As with the DLC, the 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077 will be exclusive to current-gen consoles and PC.
