We gave the original PS5/PS4 release of Horizon Forbidden West a huge 10/10, saying, “Horizon Forbidden West is an exceedingly clever sequel, a deep and addictive action RPG, a dense world that unfolds with an impeccable sense of pace, a visual tour de force and the masterful delivery of a promising concept. Somehow, by some sheer creative force a big, blockbuster open world game about post-apocalyptic tribal warriors with AR headsets fighting robot dinosaurs works even better the second time around. If you have access to a PlayStation you owe it to yourself to play this right away.”
We also gave its expansion, Burning Shores, which is including in the PC Complete Edition an 8/10, saying “Burning Shores is a worthy expansion and follow-up to the incredible Horizon Forbidden West. It’s packing a fantastic new location to explore, compelling new characters and fearsome new machines to fight while offering an exciting glimpse into the future of the franchise. It’s a bit more rough around the edges than I’d like but it’s essential playing for Horizon fans.”
