Planet of Lana, the gorgeous hand-painted puzzle platformer from Wishfully and Thunderful Games, has been a little while coming after first being announced at E3 2021, but it’s almost here!
After an unfortunate delay last year, we now know that Planet of Lana is coming very soon on May 23rd, launching for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One as well as PC. It’ll also be included with Xbox Game Pass from day one, adding to the line up of Xbox Game pass titles that have been announced for May so far.
The game looks like a scenic jaunt not unlike other celebrated indies in the vein of Ori and Inside, with plenty of mystery hidden in its gorgeous art and the looming threat of dangerous machines and strange fauna. There are definitely some heavy Studio Ghibli influences to be drawn as well, and The Last Guardian composer Takeshi Furukawa is involved so the soundtrack should be an absolute delight.
A new trailer has also debuted alongside the release date announcement, giving us one last glimpse of Planet of Lana’s incredible vibe and setting up some of what you can expect from the adventure. You can watch that just below:
