We knew that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart would have a 30FPS/Ray Tracing and a 60FPS mode at launch, but there’s actually a third mode. It incorporates the best of both worlds and will provide 60FPS gameplay with ray tracing but at a lower resolution than both of the other modes.
Players who update #RatchetPS5 on launch day gain access to our Performance & Performance RT Modes.

This is the same mode that Insomniac worked into both Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales sometime after launch, but it hadn’t been confirmed for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart until today.
So to recap, there will be three display modes for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart:
- Fidelity Mode – 4K/30FPS/Ray Tracing
- Performance Mode – 60FPS
- Performance Ray Tracing mode – 60FPS/Ray Tracing
Obviously, the resolution will drop the further you go down, but Insomniac has said that they’re using a dynamic base resolution that then uses temporal injection to achieve a 4K image, so all three modes should still look great.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is out on June 11th exclusively for PS5. The cheapest price is currently $98 on Amazon.
