Armored Core 6 Players Are Making Some Great (And Cursed) Mechs

Corespotting.

Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon might be another punishingly-brutal game from serial dispensers of pain, FromSoftware, but that hasn’t broken the creative spirits of folks playing it if the cavalcade of custom cores popping up on social media and in subreddits since launch is any indication.

Thanks to the game’s mech customisation features, players have been able to paint and design some pretty incredible machines of war. Some of the cores we’ve are genuinely dope-looking mechs based on some iconic characters like Krillin or Kirby, others rep brands like Guinness and Walmart.

And then some are absolute nightmare-fuel like this CJ mech (technically a mod, but still amazing):

Or my personal favourite, the world’s greatest prankster, Carmine Laguzio. Like most Armored Core VI players after their 1000th boss attempt, he doesn’t want to be around any more:

Calling this one “Big Mech” is just *chef’s kiss*

And this Mr Krabs is… yeah…

If you want to see more, definitely check out the “AC Showcase” flair on Reddit where there’s a whole heap of ’em.

We gave Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon a healthy 9/10 in our review, saying “Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon manages to succesfully bring back and cultivate an experience reminiscent of the old games for newer audiences without losing sight of what made the previous games so good. While it’s still relentlessly challenging and the story can be a bit drab, Fires of Rubicon is yet another success for FromSoftware with it’s satisfying and fast paced combat.”

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Amazon has copies for $99.95 including shipping.
