If the Rock and Morty God Of War Ragnarok commercial that PlayStation dropped a few months ago wasn’t enough, they’re now dropped a new one starring Ben Stiller, LeBron Jame and John Travola along with each of their kids, playing out the typical father/son role that we see between Kratos and Atreus.
If that premise wasn’t enough, Stiller is in full Kratos makeup/dress, which makes the whole thing even more insane. It’s obviously cool to see such well-known personalities in a PlayStation ad, but it’s a little bit unhinged (in the best possible way).

Stiller said to EW: “I have to say trying to make LeBron James laugh was fun — and he loves to improv also,” the Zoolander and Tropic Thunder actor says. “So he was making me laugh too. There was a bit about his headband he came up with and since we don’t really know each other, and I didn’t know his sense of humor, it was fun to see that he enjoyed that and played off it. Felt the same with John Travolta — both iconic figures — and John really plays in the moment. It was great to have a chance to act with him, since I have been a fan forever.”
“This shoot was so much fun,” James agrees. “I don’t think I’ve laughed that much on set, ever.”
Travolta notes, “Our children were hilarious in their very dry reaction to their parents being over-enthusiastic towards the game and that made me laugh on and off camera.”
God of War Ragnarök releases on November 9th for PS5 and PS4. Amazon currently has the cheapest prices at $98 for PS5 and $79 for PS4. We’ll have a full review for the game at 3AM AEDT on November 4th.
