Starfield Is Bethesda’s Biggest-Ever Launch With Over 6 Million Players Already

Astronomical!

Hot off of the news that the game had managed to rack up over a million concurrent players in the first day of its wider release, Bethesda has revealed that Starfield has been its most successful game launch of all time.

While the million simultaneous players milestone was impressive, we posited that it must mean an astronomical number of people having picked up the game overall, and we weren’t wrong. As per what’s been shared, over six million people have played Starfield so far.

That number is obviously helped along greatly by the game’s inclusion in Xbox Game Pass from its September 6th launch date, but it also accounts for a huge number of players picking up the pricier early release versions of the game or the $60 Deluxe Upgrade that added early access and content benefits to those getting Starfield via Game Pass.

We scored Starfield a huge 9/10 in our review, saying “If what you’re hoping for is The Elder Scrolls or Fallout in space, then Starfield is that. Not only does it have countless stories begging to be sought out against a vast and beckoning star chart, it’s also the most polished Bethesda Game Studios title we’ve ever had.”
