Samsung has launched a new Australia-inspired map in Fortnite Creative, celebrating the uniqueness of Aussie public transport and national icons like the Australian White Ibis Bin Chicken and the huge 44% of Australian gamers who say they turn to mobile gaming during their commute.
The map, dubbed Clash of Commuters, will also be the focal point of a Australia-wide competition where players can compete to win a Samsung gaming prize pack worth over $8,000 that contains a 55″ OLED telly, Odyssey OLED G9 monitor, Galaxy S24 Ultra phone and Galaxy Buds2 Pro headphones.
The winner will be the player who completes the Clash of Commuters campaign in the shortest time, but there will also be prizes for those who knock it out the fastest on mobile as well as the player who acquires the most “side quest phones” and then four more randomly-selected winners.

It’s all based on research that Samsung Electronics Australia has conducted that’s found that 48% of Australian gamers reckon their smartphone is their most frequently-used gaming devices, with consoles trailing at 26%, desktop and laptop PCs at 24% and “other devices” making up the shortfall (I assume this is people playing DOOM on their Samsung Smart Refrigerators).
As part of this activity, Samsung will also have interactive pop-ups in Sydney and Melbourne where passers-by can play the new map inside a vision of post-apocalyptic public transport. The pop-up tour will start first at Sydney’s Parramatta Square this weekend and then move on to Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station next weekend. You can see the dates and opening times below:
