Elgato has long served gamers and streamers with some pretty top-notch gear (you can read my reviews of the Elgato Stream Deck+ here and the Elgato Wave DX here), but now it’s making moves toward everyday users with some very sleek but affordable new devices dubbed the Neo range.
The range encompasses a full solution whether you’re looking for productivity, to jazz up your on-cam presence for work or you are just looking for an entry-level and attractive streaming or gaming setup, with a USB mic, game capture device, Stream Deck, webcam and key light all decked out in a pearly white.
The star of the show is undoubtedly the $149 Elgato Wave Neo, which takes the brand’s gaming microphone chops and puts them towards a svelte, handsome USB-C condenser mic that reportedly stacks up pretty closely to the likes of the Elgato Wave:3 with a lower sensitivity rating but a wider frequency response. It’s got an elegant touch-to-mute button on front, a 3.5mm jack in the rear and a tall stand designed to sit at the perfect height. Like the rest of the range, it’s plug and play and can also be used with iPad.
The Stream Deck Neo is priced at a reasonable $159 and sports eight of the classic customisable panels while also featuring two touch points and a built-in infobar display, making it a pretty good alternative to the rest of the Stream Deck range. The Game Capture Neo is similarly geared towards creators with the ability to capture everything from consoles and PC to mobile devices with lag-free 4K60 HDR passthrough and up to 1080p60 recording.
Lastly, to ensure you look great on camera and on stream, the Facecam Neo offers full HD recording and an easy-slide privacy shutter with plug-and-play USB-C connectivity, and the Elgato Key Light Neo is a compact, monitor-mountable key light with on-device controls for brightness and colour temperature so you can use it anywhere without needing extra software to get the right look.
