In one of the worst kept secrets in a year of badly-kept secrets, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have finally, officially announced that this year’s Call of Duty release is indeed a direct follow-up to last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is set to launch on November 10, as revealed with the below, incredibly-basic teaser trailer that definitely screams “we just had to put literally anything out there.”
At this stage no further details or platforms have been announced.
The announcement comes after months of leaks and speculation including key art and images revealed by data miners and loose Monster Energy promotional materials, as well as a longstanding belief that this year’s entry had originally started life as an added expansion for MW2 before it grew into its own thing.
Activision has hinted at players being able to carry over their gear from Modern Warfare II into this new title, which should be a big plus for fans.
