A Huge Nintendo Direct Is On Tonight So Here’s When And How To Watch

Set those alarms!

As has been heavily rumoured to appear at some point this week, Nintendo has revealed that it is indeed broadcasting a brand-new main event Nintendo Direct, and it’s happening tonight.

The Nintendo Direct will premiere at midnight tonight (AEST) and feature roughly 40 minutes of information focused on Switch games coming out at the end of this year and beginning of next year.

WHEN CAN I WATCH THE NINTENDO DIRECT IN AUSTRALIA?

The September 2023 Nintendo Direct premieres at 12AM AEST Friday, September 15th (so at the stroke of midnight tonight). Here’s how that time shakes out around the rest of the nation:

  • 12.00AM Friday, September 15th AEST (Melbourne/Sydney/Hobart/Canberra/Brisbane)
  • 11.30PM Thursday, September 14th ACST (Adelaide, Darwin)
  • 10.00PM Thursday, September 14th AWST (Perth)
  • 2.00AM Friday, September 15th NZDT (Wellington)

Right here! The Nintendo Direct will be watchable below as soon as it goes live:

WHAT WILL BE SHOWN AT THE NINTENDO DIRECT?

At this stage, we know very little about what’s going to be shown at tonight’s Nintendo Direct, aside from the vague notice that it’ll be focused on games releasing in Summer – so the end of this year and early next year. A lot of the safe bets as far as first-party Nintendo games fall just short of “Summer” but we wouldn’t be surprised to see the likes of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario RPG show up still, along with the stuff we’ve seen before that isn’t dated yet like Luigi’s Mansion 2, Untitled Peach Game as well as third-party stuff like Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince.

There are rumours of an F-Zero game announcement, and given those rumours came along with notice of this Direct before Nintendo had confirmed it, there’s a greater-than-usual chance they could hold some weight. There’s also been talk of something to do with Donkey Kong, but we wouldn’t put too much stock in hearsay and just wait to see what happens.

WILL THE NEW NINTENDO CONSOLE BE ANNOUNCED AT THE DIRECT?

Probably not! But I think everyone is hoping it will. But probably not. Right??
